YOU ARE NOT ALONE

You are not alone.

Barbados has been shaken by the tragic deaths of two young people in the last week.

Their passing has highlighted the need for improved mental health awareness and policies to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

Mental illness is often regarded as an "invisible" illness because symptoms may not be easily visible to others. we put a cast on a broken leg. we are prescribed anti-hypertensives when our BP reading is too high. we put on a soothing cream for eczema.

But how do we understand or treat something we cannot see or measure, and that may present differently in each person?

A community illness requires a community effort and this includes education, advocacy, and policy changes.

If you are struggling or know someone that is facing mental and emotional challenges, please check out the Let’s Unpack It (@letsunpackitco) page for tools and resources.

You are not alone.
